Tenant check by phone number
The tenant who disappeared owing two months’ rent will be calling another landlord tomorrow. In Livupp previous landlords leave a review against their phone number, and the next landlord checks it in seconds. Free, no registration.
🔒 Reviews only from phone-verified landlords · no names or addresses, just a rating tied to a number · the tenant sees their own reviews and can respond
Three steps, one minute
Enter the phone number
The one the applicant texted or called you from. No name, no ID number.
See what landlords say
Rating, whether they paid on time, whether there was damage, how long they stayed. Only from verified landlords.
Decide with peace of mind
Hand over the keys with a clear head, or thank them for the viewing. And leave a review for your previous tenant, so we protect each other.
The facts, not the impression from the viewing
Overall rating
The average rating from all landlords who have had this tenant. One landlord, one review.
Payment discipline
Did they pay on time, were they late, did they leave owing money.
Condition of the property
Did they return the property in good condition, was there damage beyond normal wear and tear.
Length of stay
How long they lived in one place. Frequent moves are a signal worth asking about.
Landlord’s comment
A short note in the previous landlord’s own words. No names or addresses.
Tenant’s response
The tenant sees the reviews about them and can respond. Both sides have a voice.
Five checks that save months of stress
The phone check is the first step. Here are the other four that experienced landlords never skip.
- Phone: look up the number in Livupp for reviews from previous landlords.
- ID card: photograph it and attach it to the contract. An honest tenant has no problem with this.
- Income: it’s not awkward to ask where they work. Rent should not exceed one third of their income.
- Previous landlord: a two-minute conversation says more than the whole viewing.
- A deposit with a receipt and a photo protocol before move-in. At move-out, facts decide — not memories.
One minute of your time protects hundreds of landlords
Sign up with your phone, add your former tenant by number and leave a review. No card, no subscription. The next landlord will thank you.
Frequently asked questions about tenant checks
How does a tenant check by phone number work?
You enter the applicant’s phone number in Livupp. If previous landlords have left a review, you see their rating, whether the tenant paid on time, whether there was damage and how long they lived in the property. If there are no reviews, the number is simply unknown to the system — that is neither a good nor a bad sign.
Is the check free?
Yes. The check by phone number is free and requires no registration. You only need to register if you want to leave a review about your own tenant.
Where do the reviews come from?
Only from registered, phone-verified landlords. One landlord can leave one review per tenant. There are no anonymous comments and nothing copied from Facebook groups.
Is it legal to share reviews about tenants?
A review is the landlord’s personal assessment of specific facts about the tenancy — whether the rent was paid, whether the property was returned in good condition. Livupp does not publish personal data such as names, addresses or ID numbers — only a rating tied to a phone number. Every tenant can request a report of the reviews about them and respond to them.
What should I do if my tenant isn’t paying and has disappeared?
First, preserve the evidence: contract, messages, bank statements. Then leave a review in Livupp against their phone number to warn the next landlord. It takes two minutes and is free.
What else should I check before handing over the keys?
ID card (photograph it for the contract), income or place of work, a conversation with the previous landlord, a deposit with a receipt before move-in and a handover protocol with photos. Livupp generates all of this automatically if you decide to manage the tenancy through the app.
